Visiting the Denver Christkindlmarket

Denver, Colorado hosts one of the most festive and European inspired Christmas Markets in the United States. Strolling in between the wooden huts, with a mug of mulled wine, hot chocolate or a Prost beer, makes you feel as if you were strolling the aged brick streets of a Bavarian community. Denver's Christkindlmarket is a great excuse to meet up with friends and family, and get into the Christmas spirit.

The wooden huts strategic placed, to form a perfect path, for those meandering through Civic Center Park in downtown Denver, Colorado, creates a magical Christmas vibe.

Several vendors bring a taste of Europe to the market. Bavarian pretzels, Polish Pierogies, Greek gyros and French cheese top my list of favorites. There's also carved chocolate, roasted nuts, crepes and more!

If you need a break and want to gather with friends, the campfires bring warmth and place to mingle while sipping on a German bier. There's a hut close by to purchase all of the fixins' for s'mores, for the kids and adults to enjoy!

For a more authentic experience, you may want to join your friends and family in the bier hall. To guarantee a table, you may reserve a table in 2 hour increments, or you can take a chance to walk-in and find a table; although the tent is pretty full most of the time. If you're lucky, the band will be playing.

Each year, the Christkindlmarket hosts local artisan and food venders. Be sure to check out the official Denver Christkindlmarket webpage for current vendors, hours and entertainment, and make reservations for the beer hall.

Frohe Weihnachten! Prost!

(Merry Christmas! Cheers!)
